Has it really been 2 months???? :) Sept 22, 2014

Hello everyone! Its been another great week here in the SCCM:)
(south carolina columbia mission)
I hope everything is going great for ya'll too!

Weeks are starting to blur together so Im not sure how much I will have to say...and sorry if I share something over again.
Did ya'll know that in the South the KFC's have buffets?? hahah It is great! And the sides arent just mashed potatoes, macaroni, and beans. They have cream corn, peach cobbler, fried okra (which is surprisingly good), and grits. Southern people like their food...and their buffets...
Literally all there is to do in Anderson is shopping or eating. They have so many food places!
Last month a Krispy Kreme opened up and people were camping out two days before it opened. And everyday...even still after a month of it being here, the line is so long...it even makes its own lane on Main st.
The work has been kind of slow this week. We are really trying to find new and more people to teach, but before we even get a chance to teach them anything people will close the doors and say they already have a church. Its sad because it feels like they are closing the door on Jesus, but we are staying faithful and hopeful:) we know that just means something amazing is about to happen!:)
Also the new elders are great and have brought some good ideas to help us work more with the ward and find new people to teach.
This Sunday we had two farewells in the ward. Spencer is leaving tomorrow for the Salt Lake City South mission and Shayla is leaving in two weeks for the Arizona Mesa mission. After church they had a huge southern party for him. There was fried chicken, boiled peanuts, grits, bbq, macaroni pie, and sweet potato casserole. Have you ever had boiled peanuts??? they are gross! haha:) only thing I have tried here I haven't liked so far.
Anyways Im running out of time....but until next week think about this scripture in 1 John 4:18-19
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hat torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
We love him, because he first loved us."

This whole life is dedicated to Heavenly Father. Everything we have is because of Him, and everything we do should help us work towards becoming more like Him. We should make right choices and live His commandments and His gospel because we love Him. Don't fear of what is to come as you show Heavenly Father the love you have for Him by keeping His commandments, you will be filled with His love rather than fear.
Hope ya'll have a great week! And send some prayers my way please that we might find people to teach:)
I love and miss ya'll so much!
Love,
Sister Rice
