Anyways this week has been pretty interesting. It is staying pretty nice and cool so I am really enjoying the weather, actually kind of starting to get cold.
Some funny stories from this week. We stopped by this lady's house to see how she was doing and this little boy answered the door and said "There some white girls out there!" and then his mom said, "Boy you shut your mouth. Im gonna whoop you! There aint no color! They womens!" It was the funniest thing:)
Then we got a referral from a member for this 60 year old black guy that has 3 ordained minister licenses. He has been a Pentecostal, a baptist, and something else preacher. He is very sweet, but would kind of preach to us when we were teaching. Whats different about him then most preachers we deal with is he doesnt argue. He accepts what we teach and is open to learning more. So its exciting. He came to church on Sunday, and it was fast and testimony meeting, and right when it opened up to the congregation, he asked sister Hendrix if he could go up there. We were pretty nervous, but it was good. He talked about fasting and how it can truly heal us. The ward was very open to him and very nice to him. Im glad they didn't respond negatively. Its just a culture shock from the way our Sunday services are.
Anyways I am so excited for General Conference!!:) For those of you who don't know what that is... We believe that we have a living prophet and 12 apostles just like how Christ set up his church when he was here. And twice a year we get to hear from them in a worldwide broadcast! They have such uplifting and inspiring messages to share. I would invite all you to watch General Conference this weekend on the 4th and 5th. It is from 10-12 and 2-4 both days. You can find it live on lds.org I promise you any questions or concerns you may have in your life can be answered through conference because they truly are men called of God to lead his people back to Him. Pray this week about things you may be struggling with and then watch a session of conference. I promise you will find an answer to your prayers as you listen to their messages and pay attention to your thoughts and feelings while watching it.
I love all of you so much and want you all to know that I know the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true gospel on earth and that it can bring so much peace into our lives and help us know how to return home to our Heavenly Father with our families. You are all children of a loving Heavenly Father who knows you and loves you and wants you to turn to him. I promise all of you that He is there and He is waiting for you to turn to Him.
